A voice echoing the poem "I am not I": Marguerite Porete
It still surprises me each time I
discover distant voices echoing each other. There is something mysterious and comforting
at the same time in finding connections and resonances between a 20th century
poet, and a 12th century mystic:
"Such a Soul often hears what she hears not,
and often sees what she sees not,
and so often she is there where she is not,
and so often she feels what she feels not."
Marguerite Porete (1250-1310)
She was burned by the Inquisition in France.
