When Fear Sleeps by My Side (I): Haruki Mukarami
When this happens, I am not sure how or when, the precise hour, the precise second it nested in my mind. (Which dark spirit brushed my back and made me be aware of it?). And then, I wake up and there it is fear by my side:
“The journey I'm taking is inside me. Just like blood travels down veins, what I'm seeing is my inner self and what seems threatening is just the echo of the fear in my heart.”
