When Fear Sleeps by My Side (ll)
I found by chance this fragment of a poem by Testy McTesterson, different from my other quotes, I don't know this author, I just see that these words are an honest confession. I want with my blog to include words to inspire reflection and to accompany the day... I rather don't have these words with me all day. Even though fear and frailty, vulnerability and weakness are inevitable companions sometimes. May this acknowledgment release them...
"I am filled with
things and I battle feelings
I have never wanted to exist inside of me
I lack too much confidence and I carry too
much sadness and my body is full of stars
that never learned their name. I wear my
insecurities like pockets and I fill them
with my fears and my hands are growing tired
from reaching down into them to hold the
feeling of being afraid. I am afraid. Always
afraid...."
