"We can't deal with sickness as an enemy... We have to listen to it. We can't fight it without knowing why it came. It came to live in a place that is part of us. If there is something that is truly ours and connects us with all that transcends us it is our body; do not give it away to be handled by someone else. ... It doesn't matter if the illness is studied to find out how it is affecting certain body part. This is not the secret kept in those organs that are taken from us. The secret is the message that they tried to communicate, and we did not listen. An organ which was born with us knows something about us it will not let us forget."
