About voice and breath by Emily Conrad

A provoking thought about self expression, language and breath. Are we shaped by our breath? Does our voice impact on our health?

Language, shaped by breath, sculpts our throats, signaling our connective tissue to orchestrate itself accordingly. Our breath , or lack of it, will determine bodily structure by the ways in which our diaphragm either liberates or cloisters emotional expression. Muting our voices by being well behaved children will shrink our skeletal structure, as if all of our bodily might is retained in the suppression of vocal energy.
