I saw tonight many young people thriving... full of life under the moon while riding my bike with my husband back home. Then, an old Asian couple crossed our path in the opposite direction. I slowed down and they smiled, they were holding hands, their gaze also full of life, life ahead and life behind, life well lived. I thought of my husband, I imagine the future... This quote, a fragment from one of Yeats' poems, I want to share.
Here, for the love ahead:.
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face...
